Marie R. Kolanko, 91, of New Hartford, passed away January 7, 2025 at LutheranCare, Clinton.

Marie was born on November 25, 1933 in Utica, the daughter of the late Thomas and Cora Romano Colosimo and graduated from T.R. Proctor High School. She married Frank Kolanko on August 8, 1953 in Utica. Frank predeceased her on December 19, 2008.

Marie and Frank owned and operated the Clarodin Restaurant in West Winfield for 30 years.

She loved to cook and enjoyed gardening, and identifying the various birds that flocked to her feeders. Marie will be remembered as a sweet and gentle spirit, whose cup was always full.

Marie is survived by her children Robert (Laurie) Kolanko of Mount Joy, PA, Wayne Kolanko of Kinderhook, NY, Daryl (Shelley) Kolanko of Potsdam, NY, Melissa (Paul) Wojciak of Poughkeepsie, NY. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Kelly (Ben) Myers, Megan (Aaron) Brown, Emily Kolanko, Mikayli and Owen Wojciak; and her great grandchildren Natalie Myers, Eliot and Dorothy Brown, and a special cousin John Wisniewicz. Marie was pre-deceased by her two brothers Richard and Thomas Colosimo, and by her great grandchildren McKenna and Delaney Myers.

The family wishes to express sincere gratitude to John Wisniewicz for his dedicated care and watchful eye over their mother. They also wish to extend their thanks to Daughters for Hire for providing companion care to her, especially Linda DeCarlo and Grace (Ollie) Wu, as well as to the staff of LutheranCare for the support and compassion shown to Marie.

Calling hours are on Saturday, January 11 from 10 - 11:00 AM at Friedel, Williams & Edmunds Funeral and Cremation Services, 13 Oxford Rd., New Hartford. The family will offer a funeral service at 11:00. The interment will be in Crown Hill Memorial Park at a later date.
