Marie and Frank were the best! I'll forever remember how they gave us shelter during the terrible blizzard of 1966. It was a Sunday night and my father, myself and our hired man were stranded on rt 20 by drifts literally higher than our cattle truck. All plows had been taken off the road for the night. It was that bad. We walked to the Clairodin, which was closed, and knocked on the door. The Kolankos let us in and gave us shelter, food and a place to sleep. When we went to pay them late the next day when the road was at least partially open, they absolutely refused to accept anything. Wonderful wonderful folks! My deepest condolences to all of Marie's family. I know she will rest in peace.
