Dianne Keene, 67, of New Hartford, passed away, January 6, 2025.

Dianne was born September 7, 1957, in Utica, the daughter of the late William and Carolyn Wesley Keene.

Raised in New Hartford, Dianne attended the Utica Catholic Academy, lived in Central New York and worked in the area, most significantly at Central Scheduling. Later, she studied Radiology at MVCC and Ultrasound Technology at Hudson Valley Community College. Following her studies, she worked as a traveling radiology technician in Oregon, New Jersey and, most recently, at SEARHC in Sitka, Alaska.

Friends and family remember Dianne as being fearless and outgoing. Whether starting a new career later in life or driving across North America with just a dog or two as companions, Dianne was not afraid to take risks or put herself out there. She was a bringer of fun, and was always organizing parties, sharing treats and telling jokes. She talked to anyone and everyone, sharing her kindness and wit with friends and strangers alike.

Dianne was a lover of animals, especially her “little girl” Puniq, a 120-pound Great Pyrenees. She loved beach vacations with her family, swimming in the ocean and watching her grandchildren surf or play in the sand.

Dianne’s time in Alaska brought out the very best in her. In Sitka, she could be found boating (and would not let a small thing like no boating experience stop her), walking with her dog and spending time with her many close friends who were like family to her.

Most importantly, Dianne had a fierce love for her 7 grandchildren, and even recently traveled to Scotland with her grandson Landon to watch him compete.

She is survived by her children Jaclynn Cahill (David) and Danielle Bridenbecker (Adam); her grandchildren Brayden, Grayson, Landon and Kellan Cahill, Aliyah, Madelyn and Finnick Bridenbecker; her siblings, Marianne Pratt (Raul Huerta), Lorraine Circelli (Ken), Nancy Miorella (Joe), Judd Keene (Diana) and Susan Bruni (Al) and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother Thomas Keene.

The family will honor Dianne’s life privately. Online messages of sympathy are appreciated and may be left at www.fwefh.com

Arrangements are in the care of Friedel, Williams & Edmunds Funeral and Cremation Services, New Hartford.
