I am so very sorry to learn today, about Bill’s passing. I have fond memories of him throughout the years, having a great sense of humor and love of his family and grandchildren. I am so very sorry for your loss. Bill was one of a kind and will truly be missed. I am sure he will be watching over all of you from above …. look for little signs from him that he is still with you and guiding you all.
Sincerely,
Ann Marrone Spina

Hello.
This is Gary Lindsey. My parents (Bill Lindsey and Doris Lindsey) were great friends of Bill and Linda. My mom was a teacher at Deerfield too.

I was in one of Bill's first classes at Deerfield Elementary School (mid 1970s).
I have so many great memories of his class, and yes, the Sesquipedalians were one of them. I can still remember cutting pictures out of magazines to describe the long words for each week. Many of those words wouldn't be in my vocabulary today without those lessons from almost 50 years ago.
I knew, even back then, that "Mr. Olbrys" loved teaching and always worked hard to make sure the students were engaged in every subject. His great sense of humor and storytelling will always be remembered by me and all his students.

I am sorry to learn of Bill's passing. My family and I have so many fond memories of Bill and his family from meeting at Bethany Church to to become great friends. Bill also taught at the school my son attended. It was always a pleasure to see and speak with and spend time with him. God be with you all this time. He has earned his wings.
We were not able to attend the visitation, but know that you are in our thoughts and prayers.. in Sympathy, the Smithling and VanHatten families.

I didn’t like school until 5th grade when I had the double classroom of Mr Tanner and Mr Olbrys. It was a turning point in my eduction and 30 years later it is still my favorite year of school. Mr Olbrys was such a special and talented educator. He made a lasting impression on all who were lucky enough to be in his classroom.

I knew Bill for 55 years and still have great memories of our years at Barrington College. We were roommates for three years and our antics together were legendary!
Bill was also very kind and sympathetic to those around him and was a fantastic teacher.
Although we lived a good distance from each other, he was as close as a phone call away, when he could get his answering machine to work!
I loved him as a brother and will miss his presence on the other end of the line.
I have come to believe that as Christians, it is never goodbye, just a see you later!
I look forward to seeing you again on the other side!

I was so fortunate to work along side Bill, as a teacher, just a few years before he retired. He was a wonderful mentor, colleague, and friend as I began my education career. His wit, humor, enthusiasm, and passion will never be forgotten! Family is his pride and joy! Sending prayers and condolences to all the family at this time. Words are not enough to describe the true impact Mr. Olbrys had on all who he interacted with.❤️

Mr. Olbrys taught me how to swim growing up and I got to run into him last summer at a garage sale. He was such a nice man, I'm so sorry for your loss.
