William C. Stuhlinger, 91, most recently of Clinton NY, made his journey to heaven, July 1, 2024, under the care of his wife, and son and daughter-in-law. The family sincerely appreciates the compassionate, timely and professional care of the Hospice staff alonghis journey.

He was born October 3, 1932 on Long Island, NY; the son of William Sr. and Genevieve Stuhlinger. After high school he enlisted in the US Navy, serving from 1952 – 1956 where he became an Electrician’s mate. While on an around the world deployment on the destroyer USS Stockham, he proudly earned the coveted shellback designation while crossing the equator.

He married Joan Yacovella in 1954 in New York City. Together, they lived in L.I. for about 12 years, moving to New Hartford NY to finish raising their children. He cherished being a husband and father. After a long professional career capped off as an Agent with Allstate Insurance Company, he retired to enjoy restoring and driving his Model A Pickup, spending time at their Piseco Lake camp and fishing with family and friends. In his retirement, he cherished his circle of friends in the communities and churches around Sebastian, FL.

William is survived by his wife Joan M. Yacovella Stuhlinger, his son and daughter-in-law William III and Rebecca; his grandchildren, William (Elissa) and James; his cherished great-granddaughters, Minka Ashby and Taber Eisley, and his sister Barbara. He was predeceased by his parents, his daughter Glory Ann and his siblings James and Patricia. He enjoyed special times with nephews Nicholas and Mark Perri and is survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

William’s life will be celebrated with a Christian service at the convenience of the family.  Arrangements are with Friedel, Williams & Edmunds Funeral and Cremation Services, 13 Oxford Rd., New Hartford.
