Thomas P. Lyman of Wampsville, NY, went to be with his Lord and Savior on October 7th, 2024, in the comfort of his home.
He was born November 25, 1941, in Utica, NY, son to the late Francis and Isabele (Becraft) Lyman. He was educated at St. Joseph and St. Patrick’s elementary schools and went on to attend UFA. Thomas was very proud to have served his country in the U.S Marine Corps, serving from 1960-1964 as a Lance Corporal and in the Vietnam War.
Thomas married the love of his life, Ruth B. (Wright) Lyman on September 19, 1961, at St. Joseph's Church in Utica N.Y. They shared 62 years of a loving marriage.
He worked at HP Hood as a treatment plant operator, and prior to that he was a maintenance supervisor. Thomas was a lifelong member of the Marine Corps League.
Thomas was a member of St. Joseph and St. Patrick Church in Oneida, N.Y. He was a true outdoorsman, Thomas loved fishing, hunting, hiking and being in nature. He also loved playing his drums, dabbling in carpentry, fixing cars, taking his regular trips up to Cooperstown, but most of all traveling with his beloved wife and family.
Thomas is survived by his children, Thomas F. (Susan) Lyman of Jonesborough, TN, Patricia (Daniel) Lefler of Camden, NY, Stephen (Michele) Lyman, Chittenango, NY, Paul (Jill) Lyman, Canastota, N.Y., and Crystal (William) Chapple, Rome, NY, and 13 grandchildren and 14 great- grandchildren, also his loving dog companion, Daisy.
Calling hours will be held on Monday October 14, 2024 from 4-6 PM at Friedel, Williams & Edmunds Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 1123 Court Street, Utica, NY, funeral service will follow at 6:00 PM. Entombment will be at Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum on Tuesday October 15, 2024 at 2407 Oneida St. Utica at 11:00am.
