Obituary

Paul Eugene Roberts, , 65, of Clinton, New York passed away unexpectedly in his home February 25, 2023.

Paul was born in Niskayuna, New York to the late Charles Roberts and Marian (Delamarter) Roberts on July 25, 1957. He attended the Mont Pleasant School in Schenectady, New York. Following his graduation, Paul was offered a full merit scholarship to the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, but chose to continue his education later in life at Herkimer County Community College.

Paul was a hard worker and dedicated volunteer, and cared deeply about the people he worked with. He gave freely of his time to the American Red Cross, various community churches for events and holiday dinners, and the Ilion Little Theatre, where he was a member for several years. Paul also served as an AmeriCorps member with Utica Municipal Housing Authority, and later in life, enjoyed spending his time tutoring individuals at the Rescue Mission of Utica's Learning Center and the Utica Public Library.

Paul was employed at several different places during his lifetime, including Simon's Men's Wear, Lexington, and Macy's, where he was recognized often for the exceptional service he provided.

Paul enjoyed cooking and good food, arts and cultural events, brain games and puzzles, playing scrabble, reading, and traveling, but found his true joy when he met his former wife, Charlene, and became a step-father to her daughter, Jenna. Paul was devoted to his family, and proud to help raise a daughter.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, April 7, 2023 at 3:00pm at Friedel, Williams, & Edmunds Funeral Home, 13 Oxford Road, New Hartford, New York 13413.
