Obituary

Patrick Lucas, 96, of Utica, passed peacefully on Monday, December 18, 2017, at Masonic Care Community. He was with family listening to his favorite band the Mills Brothers at the time of his passing.

He was born on May 11, 1921, a son of the late John and Asunta (Ferraro) Lucas. He worked for General Electric in Utica for many years as a machine operator. Patrick married Carolyn Amendola in St. Patrick’s Church on February 4, 1943.

Patrick is survived by his wife, Carolyn of Utica; children, Patrick and Michele Lucas of Danbury CT, Steven and Zowie Lucas of Lake Placid; daughter in law, Rosalie Lucas of Vienna, VA; grandchildren, Christopher, Scott, Patrick, Gregory, Stephanie, Jennifer and David. He was predeceased by his son, Roger Lucas; grandson, Eric and his siblings, Charles, John, Mary, Lena, Catherine, Geraldine and Agnes. Patrick was also very proud of his 14 great grandchildren.

The Lucas family would like to express their deep and heartfelt gratitude to the Placid Unit staff at the Masonic Care Community. The loving care you showed to Patrick did not go unnoticed.

Calling hours will be on Friday, December 22, from 10:00 am to11:00 am at Sansone Funeral Home, 1123 Court St., Utica. The funeral Mass will be celebrated at Mary of Mount Carmel / Blessed Sacrament Church, 648 Jay St, Utica at 12:00 pm. Interment will be in St. Agnes Cemetery in Utica.
