Nicole Montia DeWolf age 54 of Rome, NY passed away on Tuesday January 14th, 2025 at Wynn Hospital. She was born in Ellenville, NY on June 28th, 1970 to Joan Marie Arthur and Leon Logan. In her adolescent years, Nicole grew up in NYC along with her eight siblings but established her adult life when she relocated to upstate NY.

While living upstate Nicole (Nicky) became a wife and mother to three children and showed perseverance earning her GED at the BOCES Access Site in Rome, NY. An achievement made even more special as she earned it alongside her daughter Toni. Nicky found joy and purpose in her work at Colonial Laundromat, where her warm personality touched the lives of her community. Nicky happily served as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses since her baptism in 1999. Despite her health struggles she enjoyed doing things that made her happy like crocheting, DIY laundry soap and various home projects. She had a huge love for animals which she would provide care for them at home but also providing medical care for feral cats in her neighborhood. Nicky also loved reading and writing poetry which won her the Langston Hughes award while in middle school.

Nicole is survived by her 3 children Toni Nicole DeWolf, Jacob William DeWolf III, and Nicholas Aaron DeWolf. Her mother Joan Marie Arthur and her siblings Jon, Timothy, Nichella, Chana, Ali, Zenobia, Devine, Spencer, John, Leon Jr, LeeAnn, Steven, Mary Catherine, and Cherity and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her father, Leon Logan and the man who raised her, Irvin C. Arthur.

The family would like to offer a special thanks to their dear friend Moriah LoMascolo for all of her help caring for Nicky. Tom and Mary Pugh for all of their help in providing rides to and from doctors appointments and for all the love and comfort shown to their family. Also Paul Miner, Ben Burke, Micah Crewell, Joe Gunther, David Howard and all the members of the Hospital Liaison Committee and Hospital Visitation Committee for their spiritual guidance and emotional support.

The funeral will be Saturday, January 25th, 2025 at 3pm at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 6615 Potter Rd. Rome, NY. Arrangements are with Friedel, Williams & Edmunds Funeral and Cremation Services, 13 Oxford Rd., New Hartford.
