Dear Judy and Family, we’re sad to learn of Louie’s passing. Charlie has very fond memories of working side by side with him and I still chuckle at the fun we had at the NiMo parties. “It's tea time!” lol! Our condolences to you and your wonderful family. You were a special couple and set a fine example of hard work, dedication and most of all love for family and country. He’s resting now but his legacy lives on forever ❤️ With love, Karen and Charlie Mirabella

To the Franz family,

Louie and I were both inducted into the Army in May 1968 and went to basic training at Fort Dix together, along with a host of guys we knew from Utica.
Always smiling and laughing, and a real nice person. We both wound up in Vietnam at some point, although our paths seldom crossed after we came home.
Again, my deepest condolences to Louie’s family. May he rest in eternal peace and may God provide comfort to loved ones.

Dad, one more thing!
Sitting here at work in the library and just telling the story how you were a bigger guy and I said you were like a giant teddy bear. I loved when I was a little girl and I would lay next to you and just fall asleep on your belly! Those were nights I will never forget! Love you and miss you so much already ❤️

I grew up on Brinckerhoff Ave two doors down from the Franz family. Louie and I had many conversations as we grew up and the best and most memorable one was when Louie came back from Viet Nam and advised me to not go in the Army that if I had to go, choose the Air Force which I did and I still remember that conversation sitting on our porch steps to this day. So sorry to say that I never had the chance to thank Louie for the always good advice. Franz family I am so sorry for you loss of such a great person. Gone to soon, rest in eternal peace Louie....v/r paul calogero

Dad, where to begin!!! Never did I ever think I would be writing in your obituary. You truly were the best dad, husband and Pa Pa anyone could ask for! We had the best times growing up! You always went above and beyond for your family and worked very hard to get us what we always needed or wanted! I’ll never forget the amazing memories ❤️ Our two Florida trips, playing catch on the front lawn, fishing, swimming together, dinners in the screen house, Niagara Mohawk parties, searching for you while working with Nimo guys for some money to go to the store on my bike, holidays, hanging at the hospital when I had the boys and me calling you at 6 am because I was upset with the hospital lol and so many more memories that I’ll cherish forever! This is the hardest see you later, never a goodbye that I’ll ever have to say ❤️ Love you always and forever! Rest in peace dad xoxoxo

Dear Judy and Family,
I was so sorry to hear about Louis. It was such a pleasure to meet him and sometimes when he brought the rent down to the office we would talk about how good or bad the Yankees were doing. I truly am sorry for your loss. Memories are the legacy of love . Hold onto your memories and let them guide you thru this most difficult time. May God Bless him and may God help ease your sorrow.
