Kenneth A Temple, 91, of New Hartford, NY, has passed away on Thursday July 5, 2024, in Southport NC.

Kenneth was born on September 24, 1932 to William and Johanna Temple of Valley Stream NY.  After Ken graduated from PS 31 in 1948, he went on to study Electrical Engineering at Pratt University.

While at Pratt he worked his way through college, working at Teddy’s Soda Shop, where he met his future wife, Gloria Wuerfel.

After graduating Pratt he spent nearly 2 years in the US Army. Ken, then went on to marry Gloria on August 15, 1954. They had four children, Debra Greaves, Kenneth Temple(Donna Filkins-Temple), Patricia Circelli and Bonnie Betancourt. Ken worked over 30 years at General Electric on Broad St in Utica. He retired in 1989, but continued to consult for Sanders and Northrup Grumman.

Ken was predeceased by his two sisters, Kathleen Hargash and Nancy Parenti, and his wife Gloria and daughter Patti. He is survived by his 3 children and all his wonderful grandchildren, Katie Bassett, Brian Filkins-Temple, Brad Jones, Kayla Jones, Jenna Circelli, Amanda Circelli and Casey Betancourt. Ken is also survived by his great grandchildren, Brihanna, Jaxon and Aurora Star.

Ken, enjoyed being the President of New Hartford Little League Baseball and the New Hartford Boosters, travelling, wood working, and photography. He loved his German heritage and investigating his genealogy. He fought and won several battles with various cancers. He lived an incredible life.

The family would like to give a special thank you to Dick Knoller, Don Martin (cousin) and Tina Smith for their love, support and kindness throughout Ken’s life.

Services will be held at Friedel, Williams and Edmunds Funeral and Cremation Services, 13 Oxford Road, New Hartford on Thursday July, 11, 2024. Calling hours will be from 11 am to 1pm prior to the funeral. With a service at 1:00 led by Father Jason Hage at the funeral home. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery at 2407 Oneida St., Utica, NY immediately following.
