Kathleen (Mowers) Glass

Kathy passed away on September 29, 2024, after a brief illness with her family by her side.

She was born on August 15, 1949, in Rome, the daughter of the late Charlie S. and Emogene Schaller Mowers. She was raised in Stanwix Heights and graduated from Westmoreland Central School in 1967. Kathy taught second grade at Westmoreland for 28 years after graduating from SUNY Cortland in 1971.

Kathy and Gerald Glass were united in marriage July 16, 1977, at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Rome. They were blessed with two children Aaron (1980) and Kristin (1984). Kathy and Jerry are so proud of their achievements and the successful adults they have become. She loved family trips to Hershey Park, Disney World, Cooperstown and Lake George, but what mattered most was home and family.

She is survived by her soul mate, Jerry, her son Aaron and wife Helen (Auburn) of Syracuse, her daughter Kristin and husband Chuck Monteith of Hamilton, and two much beloved grandchildren, Macaulay (Mac) 6 and Camille (Millie) 17 months.

She is also survived by her brother Charles and sister-in-law Donna Mowers of Bald Knob, Arkansas, her Aunt Louise Bara of Yorkville and sister-in-law Barbara Waddington, New Hartford and her fiancé Hugh Humphreys and several nieces and nephews.

Also, her two texting buddies from her years at Cortland Class of 71, Paulette VanGeisen and Mary Peterson.

Visitation for family and friends is Friday from 4-7 at Friedel, Williams & Edmunds Funeral and Cremation Services, 13 Oxford Rd., New Hartford, followed by a funeral service at 7PM at the conclusion of visitation, officiated by Rev. David McKinney of the First United Methodist Church, New Hartford.

She will be laid to rest in Green Lawn Cemetery, New Hartford at the convenience of her family.
