Obituary

Geraldine (Dunn) Wheeler, age 92, a resident of New Hartford passed away peacefully December 21, 2018 at St. Elizabeth Medical Center.

She was born November 2, 1926 in Fall River, MA, the daughter of the late Fredrick and Teresa Dunn. On September 15, 1951 Geraldine married Robert Wheeler of Utica, NY in St. William’s Church in Fall River, MA.

Geraldine worked in finance for the Deprartment of the Navy in Newport, RI; the Hoyt Manufacturing Co, Fall River, MA and General Electric Co. in Johnson City, NY retiring in 1988.

Geraldine is survived by her husband and three children; Keith (Karen) Wheeler, State College, PA, Robert (Margaret) Wheeler of Endicott, NY and Diane Rothermal of Syracuse, NY and five grandchildren, Courtney Wheeler (Pavel Lougovski), Ross (Alexandra) Wheeler, Kelsey Wheeler (Juan Briceno), Emily Wheeler (Aaron Henshaw), Rebecca Wheeler, three great-grandchildren Hannah, Eli and Niko and a sister-in-law Carolyn Baron.

The funeral will be Thursday Dec. 27, at 11:00 AM at St. Thomas Church, New Hartford, with the Rev. David Sears, officiating. Interment will follow immediately at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Utica. There are no calling hours.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care.
