Gaile W. Lepper, 84, of Utica, died on Monday, December 9, 2024, at the Abraham House in Rome.

She was born on September 7, 1940, in Utica, a daughter of the late David and Alice Seelye Winston. Gaile graduated from Whitesboro High School and Empire College. On May 5, 1962, Gaile married Bernard A. Lepper in Utica. Gaile worked for the Whitesboro School District and Rome School for the Deaf.

Gaile was a member of the Plymouth Bethesda United Church of Christ, she was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and Daughters of the Nile. Over the years Gaile volunteered at various organizations and was proud to have been a Docent at Munson-Williams-Proctor Arts Institute. She found great joy spending time with her family at Piseco Lake and seeing plays at the Broadway Theater League. Gaile was proud of her children and enjoyed attending her grandchildren's soccer games

She is survived by her husband, Bernard A. Lepper of Utica; children, Suzanne L. (Rhonda Hidy) Vertigan and David B. (Elizabeth) Lepper; grandchildren, Allyson (Erin Malcolm) Vertigan, Alyssa (Tyler Lawson) Lepper, Claire Lepper and Dale Lepper; great granddaughter, Josie; brothers, Neal (Jean Dickinson) Winston and Dean (Judy) Winston; numerous nieces, nephews and a wide extended family. She made a lasting impression on everyone who knew her and will be missed

The family would like to offer a special thank you to Masonic Care Community, Hospice and Palliative Care and the Abraham House in Rome for all the care given to Gaile.

Services will be private and at the convenience of the family. Interment will be on Riverview Cemetery on Old Forge in the spring. Arrangements are with Friedel, Williams & Edmunds Funeral and Cremation Services, 13 Oxford Rd., New Hartford.
