Obituary

Denise R. “Rose” Wilson, 64, of Utica, NY, and formally of Queens, NY, left her earthly body to be with God on August 27, 2024.

She was born on September 19, 1959, in Charlotte, NC, daughter of Elizabeth Blackman. Rose was educated in Queens, where she went for her associate’s degree in culinary arts.

She was a hard working and dedicated Mom, home health aide, and cook.

Rose loved to garden and take care of children in her free time, bringing joy to so many hearts.

She is survived by her children, daughter Patience Massey, and son Deshawn Wilson ; her life partner Samuel Massey, and his children, Jaden and Jamari Massey ; her mother Elizabeth Blackman ; and her sisters, Heneritta Fenell, Brenda Wilson, Tyrese Embry, Shaniqua Harmon.

She is predeceased by her son, Emir Wilson

The funeral will be held on September 3, 2024, at 1:00 PM at Friedel, Williams, and Edmunds Funeral and Cremation Services on 1123 Court St. Utica. A calling hour will be held prior to service from 12:00-1:00 PM.
