Obituary

Denise Michelle Costello, 73, New York Mills, NY, passed on September 23, 2024. Denise had a massive stroke in 2022 and spent the last two years at the Extended Nursing Facility in Oneida.

Denise was born December 31, 1950, in Utica, NY. She was the daughter of the late
Patrick J. Costello, Jr and Beverly (Kurdziolek) Costello Dingman. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her stepfather, William (Bill) Dingman and her half-brother, Charles (Chuck) Catanzaro (Cheryl).

She attended Columbus Elementary School, Albany Street Elementary School, Proctor High School, and New Hartford High School.
Denise was employed at St. Elizabeth Hospital for eight years, and then worked at Centron Security, Utica Corporation, and HMI the Kelly Agency.

She is survived by her children Greg Costello (Shari) and Elaine Saissline Mincer (Marc), three grandchildren, Jake and Amanda Costello, and Gabrielle Mincer. She is also survived by her sister, Christine Papierz (Jack), her brother, Patrick J. Costello, III (Debbie), and her half-brother, Patrick Jay (PJ) Costello (Rebecca). She also leaves behind several beloved nieces and nephews as well as cherished friends Barbara Sharpe, Judy Rodzinka, and Greg and Ann LaBuz of Anchorage, Alaska.

Calling hours will be on Sunday, September 29, from 2-4 PM at Friedel, Williams and Edmunds Funeral and Cremation Services, 13 Oxford Road, New Hartford.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, September 30 at 9:00 AM, at St John the Evangelist Church, New Hartford. Interment will be in Holy Trinity Cemetery.
