In Loving Memory of Deanne R. Peters

Deanne R. Peters, age 86, of Clinton, NY, passed away on Thursday, September 19, 2024, at Wynn Hospital in Utica, NY. She was born in Utica, NY, on December 23, 1937, to Edward and Rose Deep Kanfoush and was the eighth of nine children.

A proud graduate of New Hartford High School, Class of 1955, Deanne married her beloved husband, Fred Peters, on May 10, 1958. Together, they shared a loving marriage that lasted until his passing in 2017. Deanne and Fred spent over 40 wonderful years in Utica, NY, where they raised their six cherished children. In 2001, they retired to Oak Hill, FL, where they formed many lasting friendships.

Throughout her life, Deanne held various jobs, but her greatest joy and priority were her family. In her retirement, she embraced hobbies such as sewing, playing bingo, and enjoying cards with friends. Above all, she cherished the time spent with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Deanne is survived by her six children: Michael Peters (Jacque) of Beaverton, OR; Linda Cunningham (Robert) of Clinton, NY; Robert Peters of Lee Center, NY; Patricia Geckler (Carlton) of Parkland, FL; Jennifer Evers (David) of Wilton, NY; and David Peters and Faith Korbel of Arlington, VA. She also leaves behind her brother, Edward Kanfoush, and his wife, Diane, of Inlet, NY, and Oak Hill, FL, along with her 10 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Deanne was preceded in death by her seven siblings: Janette Garnsey, Joseph Kanfoush, Sarah Tyburczy, Ardell French, Laura Budlong, Alice Cullen, and Gladys Olejarczyk.

Services will be private, held at the discretion of the family. Arrangements are with Friedel, Williams & Edmunds Funeral and Cremation Services, 13 Oxford Rd., New Hartford.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Deanne’s memory to a charity of one's choice.
