Resided in New Hartford, NY
Christopher Ochieng Joseph Ojuro was born in Buffalo, NY on August 12, 1999, to Dr. Peter Ojuro and Jackie Ojuro. Chris transitioned to eternal life on March 1, 2025, at a young age of 25.
Chris graduated from New Hartford High School in 2017. He was a talented soccer goalkeeper and ran track for the New Hartford Trojans. After graduating, he went for postsecondary education at Southern Union college in Alabama where he studied communications.
At the time of his transition, he was employed as an Account Executive at Times Shamrock Media where he found his passion in sales and advertising. He also participated in live broadcasting of high school basketball games. His coworkers loved his energy and spirit. They said his smile lit up the room every time he walked in.
Chris enjoyed listening and writing music. He was inspired by James Arthur, Sam Smith, and Johny Junior. He enjoyed playing soccer and basketball with friends and he loved going to live sports events especially when the NY knicks were playing.
Chris was a hardworking and dedicated young man who believed in the spirit of excellence in whatever task he was assigned. Christopher was a comical, loving and outspoken individual. He could make a joke out of anything just to make you feel better. He assisted his father with driving during family trips to Disney. According to his siblings, Chris was dubbed mama’s boy. He enjoyed visiting Kenya and once danced with Maasai warriors and his favorite animal was the African Lion. Chris loved his grandmother so much that he always kept a picture of her in his car.
Chris leaves behind a legacy of love, faith and devotion that will inspire many generations to come. On many occasions, he would call his father to assist his friends with medical questions. His kind heart and selfless spirit will be deeply missed.
Chris was very keen on giving support to his parent’s projects of building a hospital in Kenya. Because of his love for Kenya, he will be laid to rest in Kirindo village in Siaya County alongside his grandparents. To honor his legacy, the planned hospital will be dedicated to his name.
Chris was preceded in death by both his paternal and maternal grandparents as well as his favorite aunt Marie Yolene. He is survived by his parents Dr Peter Ojuro and Jackie Ojuro, older sister Wiljar, and younger siblings Christian and Nia Ojuro. Also, a host of uncles, aunts and cousins.
Our family would like to thank everyone for your support during this difficult time. A special thanks to the director and staff at Friedel Williams & Edmunds in New Hartford NY for the care and support they have accorded to our family. Services will be private.
