Charles Terpstra

Charlie and I got acquainted through the Church Men's group in (about 2005). The group was very active then and we spent many hours in the kitchen making pies - of course, Charlie made the crusts - and the rest of us the fillings. We also had a "sub group" that met for breakfast at Burger King every Thursday at 9:30 AM. This group of originally 6 to 8 guys met continually except during "Covid" but eventually shrank to just Charlie and me. I will really miss Charlie and offer my condolences to all his family and many friends.

Joyce and family,
I am so sorry to read of Charlie's passing. He certainly made the best of his retirement from Holland Farms. Charlie's baking abilities are still the gold standard at Holland Farms here at the Farm today, and many of his recipes are still being used by those bakers who have followed him.
My dad, John, and Charlie had a connection...and Charlie could tell stories for how John 'fixed' things that needed attention, and have his listeners laughing out loud. They admired each other for their expertise.
I remember Charlie, who always had a smile, a story or a pastry to try, standing at the baker's table for hours on end ... decorating cakes, half moons and making pies. Thanks Charlie, and my sympathies to your family. You were one of a kind.

To the Terpstra family, Charlie was one of the best bakers in Central New York and a good friend of my Dad. Our condolences to you all. May the Lord be with you.- Bill Britt
