Charles E. Matthews (Pops) was born on August 17, 1960 in Central New Jersey. He passed November 23, 2024 in Utica New York surrounded by family.

Charles grew up at the Jersey shore for a good part life. For the past 10 years, he lived in Central New York with his son and family.

Charles enjoyed teaching his grandchildren how to cook old family recipes. He loved dancing, listening to music, and spending time with his family and close friends. He had a passion for greenery and a connection with nature’s animals.

Charles was predeceased by his father John Matthews and brothers John and Rob Matthews. He is survived by his mother Helen Matthews and siblings Cindy Stafford (Matthews), Richard Matthews ,Tammy Comerford, and Tim Matthews; his daughter Dana Baffa, his son and daughter-in-law Anthony and Tanya Baffa; his grandchildren Anthony, Tobias, Luciano, Barnaby, Genovese, and Phoebe Baffa.

Charles Matthews (Pops) will be loved and missed by family and friends.
