Pratt & Blatt Family,
Veronica and I were very sorry to hear about the untimely passing of Charlie. We have added you and your families to our daily prayer list. And, when we attend mass Sunday, we will add you and your families to our parish book of prayers. We will always cherish our fond memories of Charlie and our son Robert playing in the men’s summer soccer league when they were in high school and beyond. We always admired Charlie’s soccer skills and his determination to win. He was always the consummate competitor. And, it’s obvious that those traits carried over to his career in education and served him and his students well. May our Good Lord watch over, bless, protect, comfort and console you and your families as you endure this very difficult, trying and sad time in your lives. Our heartfelt sympathy goes out to you and your families in your time of loss and sorrow.

My late husband, Michael Roche worked with Charlie when he was at the BOCES Alternative Education program. He knew Charlie to be the guarantee of a laugh as well as a passionate advocate for his students! I also enjoyed Charlie's fun filled approach to life at our many coworker gatherings over the years. I am so very sorry for your tragic loss!

My deepest of heartfelt sympathies go out to Charlies family and friends during this difficult moment as I know he meant the world to a great many people.
Even though I have not seen him in a very long time the news of Charlie's passing caused a flood of amazing memories of my childhood growing up with Charlie & Mike "the infamous Pratt brothers."
From terrorizing the Adirondacks in Boy Scouts to challenging the abilities of the New Hartford police department almost daily (sorry, mom!) and some innocent memories as well ; ) The legends of these antics have been told countless times to many many people during my life and have always evoked laughs and pure amazement from listeners.
I know everyone has similar stories to tell and together all of these stories make up the Mythology of Charlie Pratt, an inspirational legend whose spirit will live to infinity and beyond. So share your stories as often as you can and keep his myth alive!

Love to all,

Chad Evans

Our son Jake was a school friend (and fellow Grace Church choir member) of Charlie and Mike. What we recall is a lot of mischief! What a sad loss--

Heartfelt condolences go out to the Family of Charlie . It was evident how much he cherished all of you ! He spoke of his family often , always with his huge ear to ear grin. We are all so sorry for this tragic loss.
I worked with Charlie in H.P. He was by far one of the kindest and most compassionate employers that I have ever had the pleasure of working for. Charlie always was there to greet the children as they started and ended their school day. He genuinely cared for ALL of them. Charlie was always there to reach out to both those that thrived and also those that struggled academically and or socially. He made the effort to truly listen to and to try to understand each of them, wherever they were at in life and to try to offer them a hand up. Education was assuredly his calling. I can say with confidence that he has made a positive difference in the lives of countless people.. We will remember him fondly. And will also be lifting you each up in prayer.

I am so terribly sorry to hear of Charlie's death. He was a student of mine and I know how heartbreaking this is for his family, especially at this time of the year.

Love never dies and I do believe in time you'll receive "signs" from him and I say cherish them. I kept a journal of special memories and signs. My heart goes out to you.

Charlie was the heart and soul of Jarvis MS and he will be deeply missed by all of us. He was an amazing person and boss. I will always be grateful for his support and kindness. I plan to paint a mural in honor of Charlie at Jarvis so his spirit will be forever present in our school.

We are so heartbroken that Charlie has left our world. We have so many good memories of Charlie - as a little boy sleeping over, as a funny and feisty teenager, as a soccer coach and an educator, as a father of four amazing children, as a devoted husband, and as a true friend to Mikey. Our thoughts and prayers are with Debbie, Oscar, Emerson, Willa, and Olympia, and all of Charlie’s family. Like Mikey, Charlie was taken too soon, but we imagine that they are together now, skateboarding and raising a little hell in heaven. We send you so much love.
