Bruce Haas, 62, of Holland Patent, passed on January 16, 2025, after a short illness.

He was born on December 8, 1962, a son of Gary B. and Judith Romanus Haas. Bruce attended Whitesboro Schools, where he belonged to the Scouts and played sports, graduating in 1981. He entered the apprentice program for IBEW Local 181 Electrical Union following in the footsteps of his great grandfather, grandfather and father. He worked on many projects, including refurbishing the Stanley Theater, Destiny Mall and many other as a foreman. He truly loved his work. Bruce had many interests and hobbies and enjoyed building furniture, woodworking, hunting, fishing, gardening, beekeeping and was currently building his home.

He was a loving son, brother and father and loved being a grandfather.

He leaves his loving parents, Gary and Judith Haas; sister, Tammy and brother Lance; children, Jacob (Sarah) Haas and Amy Haas; grandchildren, Mason, Everett, Madelyn, who thought grandpa could hang the moon. He is also survived by his loving aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends. Bruce was predeceased by his grandparents, Edward and Edith Romanus and James and Marie Haas.

The funeral will be on Tuesday, January 21 at 12:00 pm at Friedel, Williams & Edmunds Funeral and Cremation Services, 13 Oxford Rd., New Hartford. Interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Calling hours will be on Tuesday from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm prior to the funeral.
