Obituary

Blanche S. Stephens, 86, of New Hartford, NY, passed away on December 20, 2024 at Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse, NY.
Blanche was born August 8, 1938, in Rome, the daughter of John and Blanche Green. She was educated at Utica Free Academy. On August 2, 1958, she married Bernard F. Stephens in Utica, NY, a loving marriage lasting 55 years and he died on December 2, 2013. She enjoyed bingo, cards, dominoes, and spending time with family and friends.

Blanche is survived by her children, Kim Stephens and her children, Tony, III (Kirsten Lawlor) Asfur and Ricky (Alekxa) Asher; Deborah and Raymond Hapanowicz and their children, Nicole (Scott) Lichorowic and Matthew (Abigail) Hapanowicz; Donna Cichon and her children, Stephen Cichon, Everett Cichon, Samantha Cichon, and Justin (Vanessa) Cichon; Pamela and Glenn Smith and their children, Mariah Smith and Santana (Aaron) Block; and Bernard and Cheryl Stephens and their children, Zachary and Lauren. She is also survived by 14 great-grandchildren; her beloved sister, Patricia Morgan; a son-in-law, James Cichon; two sisters-in-law, Fran Green and Irene Green; many beloved nieces and nephews; and many lifelong friends.

She was predeceased by her husband, Bernard; her parents; two brothers, John Green and Robert Green; and a sister, Betty Hale.

Family and friends are invited to a memorial service to be held on Friday, December 27 at 3 pm at the Friedel, Williams and Edmunds Funeral Home, 13 Oxford Road, New Hartford. Calling hours are from 1-3 prior to the service.
