Barbara H. Cale, formerly of Barneveld, NY and recently of Acacia Village and the Masonic Care Community died February 14, 2022.

She was born in Wilmington, DE on August 23, 1922, daughter of Kenneth A. and Meta Lawrence Horn. On September 18, 1943, she married Theodore Cale Jr. in Arlington, NJ. She attended Wellesley College and graduated from Utica College of Syracuse University. Barbara worked as a chemist for E.I. Dupont de Nemours, Kearny, NJ and Arthur D. Little Consultants, Cambridge, MA. After raising her family, she became the sixth-grade math and science teacher at Remsen Central School until retiring in 1983. She was a past member of the Glass Hill Golf Club, Utica Curling Club, and the Town of Trenton Historical Committee. She was a member of Mappa-Selma Order of the Eastern Star for over 60 years and volunteered for Literacy Volunteers and for the Red Cross.

Barbara is survived by her three sons: Douglas from Detroit MI, daughter Amanda Hamilton and husband Tanner; son Eric and wife Andrea (Krueger) and their children Charlotte and Madeline. Robert from Washington NH and wife Alice (Mahoney), daughter Lauren Cunningham and husband Douglas, and their children Megan and Seamus; daughter Andrea Binnick and husband Marc and their children Harrison and Graham. David from Ottawa Canada and wife Nancy (Shore) and their children Shannon and Mollie. Barbara was predeceased by Theodore, her husband of over 75 years and by daughter in law Ellen (Topkis).

According to Barbara’s wishes, there will be no calling hours or services. She will be buried in Evergreen Cemetery in the Town of Trenton NY.
