I cannot begin to express my gratitude to Barb for all the joy, understanding, compassion and fullness that she brought to my life. I first encountered Barb through Joanne, but Barb - and 'ouisie, and do I ever-so-much miss her, too - became mainstays of my growing up and of my returns to Utica after I moved away. Lord only knows how much beer I drank on Marvin Street in Clinton, but I wouldn't give back an ounce of it. Barb taught me that no matter how nasty a turn things might take in life, there was always a way you could find to laugh at them. Certainly some of my fondest memories in Life are of Christmas on Benton Circle, but I also have super-fond memories of Christmas on Marvin Street. Looking back now, I can't believe how little I talked to Barb after she moved from Marvin Street. The old song is 100% correct when it tells you "You don't know what you've got 'til it's gone ... " Joanne, Barb's kids, please accept my sincere condolences, Barb's passing kicks a big hole in my life, I'm sure it kicks an even bigger one in yours. Barb was a Force of Life, as much as we will miss her, we should not forget how much our lives were enriched by having her in them.
Condolences

Barbara Benton Harty Pratt
