Obituary

Allen W. Clarke, Sr., 74, of Utica, died on Friday, December 27, 2024, at the Oneida Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing.

He was born on November 19, 1950, in Utica a son of the late Warren and Dorothy Callahan Clarke and he attended Utica Schools. Allen was a mechanic and worked for Oneida County for many years.

He was a member of the Yorkville Memorial VFW Post 6001 and AMVETS POST 384 in Utica. With his free time, he enjoyed NASCAR Racing, car shows and in his younger years enjoyed riding his motorcycle. He was also an active volunteer with area races in the City of Utica.

He is survived by his son, Allen W. Clarke, Jr.; granddaughter, Amanda Abbott; great grandson, Giancarlo; brother, Patrick Clarke; sister-in-law, Susan Clarke all of Utica. He is also survived by a special niece, Michelle Ellis and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister, Donna; brothers, Daniel, Billy and Charlie.

The family would like to offer a special thank you to the staff at Oneida Center for all the care given to Allen.

The funeral will be on Monday, January 6 at 12:00 at Friedel, Williams & Edmunds Funeral and Cremation Services, 1123 Court @ York Sts., Utica. Interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Calling hour will be on Monday from 11:00 to 12:00 prior to the funeral.
