Juanita (Lisa) Wilkie Grim Senteney passed away peacefully from this earth on March 21, 2024. She was 90 years old. Lisa was born on December 2, 1933 in Independence, MO the sixth child of Richard William Wilkie and Marrilla Juanita Maitland.

In June of 1953 she met and married her first husband, James(Jim) Dale Grim. They had four children together: Laura Lee Barnes(Grim), Lisa Diane Lujan(Grim), Mark Elliott Grim and Peter James Maitland Grim.

Their two daughters were born in Independence, MO. After a short time they moved to South Dakota where Jim was born and raised and their two sons were born in Belle Fourche, SD and Rapid City, SD respectively.

Jim's work took them from South Dakota to Colorado and eventually to Corrales, New Mexico where they settled and Lisa came to love. Lisa and Jim divorced in 1970 and Lisa returned to school to become a nurse. She earned her LPN in 1971 from Presbyterian Hospital Center in Albuquerque, NM where she worked in CCU for several years until transferring to the Cardiac Cath Lab and working there until she took early retirement in the 1980's. She then worked as an LPN at St. Joseph's Hospital, CCU, also in Albuquerque. She met her second husband, Wiley Everett Senteney in 1974 and married December 1975. They separated in 1994 when she went to live in Oriskany Falls, NY with her daughter and son in law, Laura and Jerry Barnes.

During this time Lisa worked at Faxton Hospital Utica, NY. Crouse Hospital Nursing Home in Morrisville, NY until her retirement at age 72. She then worked as a licensed Home Heath Care aid for RCID in Hamilton, NY for about 9 years until her health began to diminish. In September 2016 she became a resident at Wiley Hall, Masonic Care Community Utica, NY until April 2018 when she transferred to the Saranac Household of the Health Pavilion until her demise, March 21, 2024.

Lisa was predeceased by her parents and siblings: sister, Anna Wilkie (Berger) and brothers Richard, Peter, David, fraternal twin, Joseph and John. Grandchildren, Christopher and Jeremy Grim and Sarah Lynn Barnes and her first and second husbands James Grim and Wiley Senteney.

While a competent and caring nurse, one of the things Lisa loved the most was gardening and every place she ever lived had a riot of blooming flowers indigenous plants, rocks, bird feeders and wind chimes. She loved to knit, crochet, sew, draw and was an avid reader.

She had a long storied and mostly happy life. She will be missed.

Arrangements are with Friedel, Williams & Edmunds Funeral and Cremation Services, 13 Oxford Rd., New Hartford.
