In Memory of Dorothy A. Harrington

Obituary

Dorothy A. Harrington, 73, of New Hartford and formerly of Deansboro, passed away with her family and friends by her side on Tuesday, April 16, 2024, at the Abraham House in Rome.

She was born on September 16, 1950, in Utica, a daughter of the late Earl and Blythe Clark White and was educated locally at Utica Free Academy. Dorothy married Richard Harrington in 1972, in Deansboro and he died on November 11, 2013. She worked as a Principal account clerk for the New York State Division of Youth and Development, she retired in 2011 to be with her grandson full time.

She cherished the time she spent with her family, and especially her grandsons. She also looked forward to getting out and socializing with her friends.

She is survived by her children, Kim Gehringer of Deansboro, Kristen Yorton and her husband, Dean, of FL, David Harrington and his wife, Aleisha of FL; grandchildren, Lucas and Jack of Deansboro and several other grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, David White and his wife, Karen of FL; nephew, Brian and niece, Michelle and special friends, Dana, Karen, Bonnie, Sharon and Vicky. She was predeceased by her son, Tech. Sgt. David E. Wyman.

The family would like to extend a very special thank you to the 7th Floor West team at Wynn Hospital, Dr. Detraglia, Dr. Guzman, and The Abraham House in Rome for all the care and comfort given to Dorothy.

Per Dorothy’s request, there will be no services. Arrangements are with Friedel, Williams & Edmunds Funeral and Cremation Services, 13 Oxford Rd., New Hartford.
